Two died due to current during immersion of idol in Ballia, accident while removing hanging wire

Ballia,Uttarpradesh :

 While removing the hanging wire at the time of immersion of the idol, three people were struck by the current.  Two of them died, while one is undergoing treatment.  During the immersion procession on Thursday evening in Palani Mauja of Sultanpur village of Rasra area, a stampede broke out when the DJ kept the high-voltage current in the car and three youths, including the DJ operator, got scorched.  People from the nearby two took the three injured to the Community Health Center.  Two doctors were declared dead by the doctors, while one of the youth was in critical condition referred to the district hospital.

 Palani village youths were dancing and singing to the tune of DJ to immerse the idol of Maa Saraswati. Electrical wires hanging along the way were being removed by the youth sitting on the DJ on the pickup when he was hit by a current. From the current Bedia resident of Bedua Mohalla and DJ Director Jeetu Kanaujia (19), Kariman Radhe Mohan Ram (20) and Bunty Mishra (21) got scorched.

As soon as the current descended, there was chaos and panic in the immersion procession. The injured were rushed to the Community Health Center where doctors declared Kariman and Bunty dead. While Jeetu Kanaujia's condition was critical, the doctors referred her. The fellow youths carried the bodies of both the dead with them. On the other hand, CO and Kotwal Nagesh Upadhyay reached the spot and inquired about the incident.

Allegations of negligence of the Electricity Department :

Locals say that the electric wire was so low that the wire was being removed by the young man sitting on the DJ. During this time, he was struck by the current. A young man is struggling with life and death. Coincidentally, more people survived the scorching. While the villagers have complained several times to fix this hanging wire, but no action was taken from the Electricity Department.
